About the Practice

Durham Road Clinic is a family-orientated practice.

We are committed to providing our patients with the best quality medical care in an environment that is warm, caring, safe, professional and respectful.

We are a fully accredited practice with GPA. We pride ourselves in achieving and maintaining the highest level of patient care.

Home / Aged Care Visits during Surgery Hours

We are more than happy to assist with Home Visits where necessary, within a 7km radius of our Clinic. Please speak with our Reception Staff for more details. Our Doctors are also committed to looking after those patients who reside in Aged Care facilities.

Appointments are preferred, and walk ins are welcomed. Each appointment is for one patient only. At the time of booking, please advise of preferred GP.

Please let the receptionist know if you would like to book a long appointment or if you need to book for additional family members. Sometimes delays can occur due to emergencies and other circumstances beyond our control but we do our best to minimise your waiting time.

We ask that your personal information including Cultural Background / Emergency contact details  and your current mobile phone number are up to date at all times.

Telephoning / Emailing your Doctor

Doctors in this practice may be contacted by phone / email during normal surgery hours. If the doctor is with a patient, a message will be taken and your call returned as soon as possible. If your call is urgent, you will always be put straight through to the doctor. Emails will be followed up on the same day.



Referrals to a specialist may be made during the consultation. Standard referrals are valid for one year so please ensure you book an appointment before your referral runs out. Please call Specialist for Fees applicable.


Prescriptions may be written during a consultation. If you need repeat prescriptions, we ask that you make an appointment to see one of our doctors, where the condition for which the prescriptions are written can be checked. Prescriptions will NOT be written without an appointment.


Sometimes your doctor will order investigations such as blood tests or x-rays. For confidentiality reasons, please book in for a return appointment to discuss the results. Results WILL NOT be given over the phone.

Recall System

Our practice is committed to ongoing preventative care. You will receive reminder notices for health care services appropriate to your care. If you do not want this service please let the doctor know.


Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of your personal health information at all times and ensure this information is only available to authorized members of staff.

Patients of our practice have the right to access their personal health information under the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.

This practice is dedicated to your confidentiality and privacy of health information. At times, the doctor participates in research, professional development and quality assurance. This can involve the collection of patient data. However this information is de-identified and those involved in analysis of the data would not be able to identify which patient has been included.

Patient Rights In Healthcare

Patients have the right to request the Doctor of their choice when available. Doctors can advise patients of appropriate health choices in order for them to make informed decision.

Interpreter Service:

If you require an interpreter please let us know when you book your appointment. We can book an interpreter via The Interpreter Services. This service is free of charge to patients who have a valid Medicare Card.
